Microsoft Warns of Critical Bug in Windows 11 Installer Media Affecting Security Updates

Windows 11 24H2 Faces Audio, Sync, and Ubisoft Issues

ISLAMABAD: Microsoft has issued a critical warning regarding a bug in the Windows 11 installer media, affecting USB or CD installation media created with the October 2024 or November 2024 patches. The issue prevents new installations from receiving future security updates, potentially leaving systems permanently unable to accept important updates. This bug does not affect systems updated via Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog.

To resolve the issue, Microsoft recommends users recreate their installation media with the December 2024 update, released on December 10, 2024. For those who have already installed Windows 11 using the affected media, the only solution is to reinstall the operating system with the corrected files.

In addition to this installer bug, users have reported other significant issues with Windows 11 version 24H2, including audio glitches, outdated Google Workspace Sync problems, and compatibility issues with Ubisoft games. Although developers are working on fixes, these ongoing problems have raised concerns about the stability of the version 24H2 release.
