Microsoft Announces $17.5 Billion Investment in India

The investment will focus on building AI infrastructure, including data centers and cloud expansion

MUMBAI: Microsoft has announced a major investment in India, marking the company’s largest commitment in Asia to date. CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella revealed on 9 December 2025 that Microsoft will invest $17.5 billion in the country following discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The investment will focus on building AI infrastructure, including data centers and cloud expansion, as well as skill development programs. Through initiatives like ADVANTA(I)GE India, millions of people will receive AI training, and autonomous AI capabilities will be developed.

Nadella highlighted India’s rapid pace of AI innovation and emphasized partnership with the government to drive digital transformation across the country.
