Meta Unveils AI-Powered Smart Glasses with Oakley, Expands Wearable Tech Line
The announcement comes as competition heats up in the smart eyewear space.
ISLAMABAD – June 21, 2025: Meta has announced a new collaboration with eyewear brand Oakley to launch “Oakley Meta HSTN,” a line of AI-powered smart glasses, further strengthening its footprint in the wearable technology market following the success of its Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
The partnership, made in conjunction with Ray-Ban parent company EssilorLuxottica, comes amid rising global interest in AI-integrated consumer devices.
According to Meta, the Oakley Meta HSTN will feature a hands-free high-resolution camera, open-ear speakers, water resistance, and built-in Meta AI capabilities — enabling users to interact with their environment through voice and vision-powered tools.
The limited-edition smart glasses will be available for pre-order starting July 11 at a price of $499, while other models in the lineup are expected to launch later this summer starting at $399.
Initially, the product will launch across North America, Australia, and several European countries, with plans to expand availability to Mexico, India, and the United Arab Emirates by the end of the year.
The new glasses will debut at major sporting events this month, including Fanatics Fest and UFC International Fight Week, to gain traction among athletes and tech-savvy consumers.

The announcement comes as competition heats up in the smart eyewear space. Earlier this month, Snap revealed plans to launch its new consumer-focused smart glasses, “Specs,” in 2026, while Google is reportedly developing similar AI-driven wearable devices.
Meta’s push into AI wearables reflects CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s broader vision of integrating artificial intelligence into everyday products, making advanced tech more accessible and interactive.
