Meta Testing New Facebook Feature to Display Post View Counts

The feature is currently being tested with a limited number of users.

NEW YORK: (Web Desk) – Meta is testing a new Facebook feature that will allow users to see how many times their posts have been viewed, introducing a metric that has not previously been available on the platform.

According to a report, the feature is currently being tested with a limited number of users.

Under the new system, post view counts will appear on the main post display. However, only the person who created the post will be able to see the view count. The feature is designed to help users better understand how their content is performing.

Meta is placing greater emphasis on view counts to provide creators with more meaningful insights into the type of content that attracts viewers.

At present, Facebook users mainly rely on likes to measure the performance of their posts. However, Meta believes that likes alone are not the most accurate indicator of a post’s popularity or engagement.

Facebook and Meta’s other apps use recommendation algorithms to display content based on users’ interests. As a result, many of the posts that appear on Facebook and Instagram today come from people users do not follow or have not added as friends.

Since the feature is still in the testing phase, Meta has not announced when or whether it will be rolled out to all Facebook users.
