Medical Helicopter Crashes on Highway in Sacramento, Injures Three

SACRAMENTO – A medical emergency helicopter crashed on Monday on a busy stretch of Highway 50 in Sacramento, California, injuring three people, air transport operator REACH confirmed. Fortunately, there was no patient onboard at the time of the crash.

The helicopter went down near 59th Street on the eastbound lanes of the highway, prompting a swift emergency response. Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty confirmed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that the survivors were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

“We are in the process of determining the details of this situation, as well as the condition of the crew involved,” REACH said in a statement to Reuters. All injured individuals were members of the flight crew.
