May 9 case: ATC rejects bail pleas of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, other PTI leaders

An Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore Thursday rejected the bail applications of senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi and two other party figures In May 9 arson and vandalism cases.

The court also ordered the dismissal of bail for former Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema and former minister Mian Mahmood ur Rasheed.

ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gul announced the verdict after hearing arguments from both sides. The bail applications were linked to a case involving arson outside Rahat Bakery, registered by Sarwar Road police station.

The ruling marks a significant step in the legal proceedings stemming from the violent protests that followed the arrest of PTI’s founding chairman on May 9.
