Massive Data Leak Exposes 200 Million Ex-Twitter Users’ Information

Despite notification, X (ex-Twitter) has yet to respond to inquiries regarding the breach, leaving affected users concerned about their digital security.

ISLAMABAD: Cyber experts have uncovered a substantial data breach involving 9.4 GB of data belonging to 200 million ex-Twitter users, raising significant concerns about privacy and security.

According to CyberPress, a leading cybersecurity organization, this breach ranks among the largest in recent history, exposing users’ email addresses, names, and ex-Twitter account details. This sensitive information puts users at risk of phishing attacks, identity theft, and other malicious schemes.

The leaked data, first disclosed on a prominent hacking forum by user ‘Mashupa’ on July 7, 2024, comprises 10 files, each containing 1 GB of downloadable information. Experts warn that cybercriminals could exploit this data to infiltrate emails and associated systems.
