Maryam Nawaz Vows Zero Tolerance Against Human Trafficking, Strengthens Ties with Saudi Arabia

Punjab CM Highlights Child Protection, Regional Peace, and Scientific Progress

Lahore – July 31: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reiterated her government’s zero-tolerance policy against human trafficking, especially child exploitation, during her message on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. She declared child safety a top priority, stating, “Children are my red line – we will not tolerate any form of exploitation.”

CM Maryam emphasized that human trafficking is a modern form of slavery. She called on citizens to adopt legal and safe routes for travel abroad and condemned traffickers for risking innocent lives for financial gain. She referenced recent tragedies of migrant boats capsizing en route to Europe as devastating human catastrophes.

In another major development, Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki met with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and CM Maryam Nawaz to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Discussions covered mutual economic interests, defense collaboration, and unity among Muslim nations.

“The bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is based on shared values and mutual trust,” said CM Maryam. She also appreciated Saudi Arabia’s support for the Global Water Organization Charter and the welfare of over 2.5 million Pakistani expatriates living in the Kingdom.

Separately, CM Maryam Nawaz expressed joy over the successful launch of Pakistan’s Remote Sensing Satellite. She congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, scientists, engineers, and thanked China for its partnership. She said the satellite is a revolutionary step toward national sovereignty, environmental protection, and scientific progress. “This technology will be used for disaster prediction, forest monitoring, and agricultural planning,” she added.

CM Maryam also expressed deep sorrow over the recent loss of lives due to heavy rainfall and flash floods in Gujrat and Hassan Abdal, urging parents to prevent children from playing in floodwaters.

Marking International Forest Rangers Day, CM Maryam lauded Punjab’s forest guards as “environmental heroes,” acknowledging their critical role in preserving the province’s natural resources. She pledged continued government support to enhance ranger training and performance.
