Maryam Nawaz Highlights Punjab Youth Empowerment Drive

Punjab Government Fully Backing Students, Says CM

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has said that Punjab is progressing steadily and the future of its youth is bright, adding that the historic prestige of the land of five rivers is being restored.

Speaking at a laptop distribution ceremony at the University of Gujrat, she assured students that the provincial government’s full resources are dedicated to empowering them. She described Punjab’s Generation Z as ambitious and determined to compete globally, saying the province’s young population is moving in the right direction.

In her address, Maryam Nawaz drew a comparison with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claiming that while Punjab’s youth are receiving scholarships and laptops, young people in KP are being exposed to unrest and instability. She asserted that Punjab is flourishing with talent, whereas KP is facing governance challenges.

The chief minister said road blockades in KP do not impact Punjab’s development trajectory. She urged the youth of KP to evaluate their circumstances and strive for progress, emphasizing that in Punjab, the government stands firmly behind students.

Maryam Nawaz also criticized the KP government’s performance, alleging that it avoids accountability by focusing on rhetoric instead of development. She remarked that it was unfortunate that KP residents were lagging behind in progress.

Referring indirectly to Imran Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leadership, she said past political confrontations should not be repeated by the younger generation. She also mentioned that Nawaz Sharif had never demanded special privileges during imprisonment, contrasting this with what she described as the conduct of PTI leaders.
