Maryam Calls for Unity to Eradicate Terrorism

LAHORE: Senior Punjab Minister Maryam Aurangzeb has urged the nation to unite and combat terrorism after the deadly attack on the Jaffar Express. Speaking at a press conference, Aurangzeb condemned the attack as another act of terrorism that must be eradicated from Pakistan, expressing deep solidarity with the victims’ families.

She emphasized the nation’s firm support for the armed forces, stating, “Pakistan is at a decisive turning point, and the entire nation stands with our armed forces in this battle.” Aurangzeb highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s continued efforts to combat terrorism, recalling how former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made significant strides in counterterrorism following the APS attack.

“We must unite to eliminate terrorism,” she asserted, adding that terrorists have no religion and are enemies of humanity. She also criticized political factions for waiting for directives from a particular leader, stressing that unity and resilience are crucial in the fight against terrorism.

Reaffirming her party’s stance, Aurangzeb praised Nawaz Sharif’s role in strengthening counterterrorism efforts and reiterated that the nation remains steadfast in the battle against terrorism.
