Martyred Professor of Sukkur IBA University Dr Muhammad Ajmal Sawand awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for meritorious services in education
Sukkur: Martyred Professor awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz for meritorious services in education. In the recognition on Pakistan Day, the late Professor of Sukkur IBA University, Dr. Muhammad Ajmal Sawand, tragically murdered last year, was posthumously conferred with the prestigious Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by President of Pakistan.
This award acknowledges his outstanding efforts in education, highlighting his lasting influence despite his untimely departure.
Dr. Sawand, whose commendable services were lauded and recommended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh for the award, was one of the 400 distinguished personalities honoured in the country for their exemplary achievements in various fields.
The award ceremony, presided over by Sindh Governor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tesori, was held at the Governor House on Pakistan Day, where Mr. Riyan Ajmal, Son of Shaheed Dr Muhammad Ajmal Sawand and his family received the award.

The Sukkur IBA University (previously Sukkur Institute of Business Administration or Sukkur IBA) is a higher education institute in Sukkur, Pakistan. It was founded in 1994 by Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui. University is a public sector degree-awarding institute chartered by the Government of Sindh and recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
The university has been awarded the “W” Category by National Business Education Accreditation Council & National Computing Education Accreditation Council, “X” Category by National Accreditation Council for Teaching Education, and is recognized by Pakistan Engineering Council.
