Malaysia backs Pakistan peace move, urges US and Iran to choose dialogue

Malaysian – (Web  Desk) – Anwar Ibrahim has welcomed Pakistan’s offer to host talks between the United States and Iran. He called it an important moment for diplomacy.

Speaking at a meeting in Jakarta, he praised the efforts of Shehbaz Sharif and other regional leaders. He said their steps to ease tensions are timely and deserve support.

He shared that this could be the last real chance to solve the issue through dialogue. He added that Malaysia will stand behind every honest effort for fair and lasting peace.

He also appreciated the role of Pakistan, Oman, and other countries trying to calm the situation. He said the ongoing conflict is affecting the whole world, especially energy supply.

The Malaysian leader urged both Washington and Tehran to take talks seriously. He said Iran has the right to defend itself, but both sides must show patience. He also warned that Gulf countries should not be pulled into the conflict.

“We call on the parties to exercise maximum restraint and ensure that civilian populations and neighboring states are not further drawn into a conflict they did not choose”, said PM Anwar.
