Majority of Sexual Exploitation and Kidnapping Cases Found Baseless, 62% Dismissed
According to police records, by August 7 of this year, a total of 4,990 cases involving crimes against women and children had been registered.
However, after comprehensive investigations, it was determined that 3,099 of these cases were baseless and were subsequently dismissed, the police reported.
The records also show that 6,118 individuals were accused in these registered cases. Among the false cases, the highest number involved the abduction of women, with 2,221 complaints found to be fabricated. Additionally, 223 false cases of sexual assault were dismissed after thorough investigations.
Police officials have suggested that many of these false cases were filed due to personal vendettas or as a form of blackmail, complicating the already delicate issue of crimes against women and children.
