Major decisions on PTI to be announced in emergency cabinet meeting: Sources

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has summoned an emergency meeting of the federal cabinet tomorrow, where significant decisions regarding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and ongoing protests are expected to be made, sources confirm.

According to insiders, the cabinet meeting will address crucial matters related to the ongoing political unrest and security issues across the country, especially focusing on the aftermath of PTI’s recent protests.

During the meeting, the government will also offer tributes to the Rangers personnel who lost their lives during the PTI protest. A special relief and aid package for the police and Rangers personnel, as well as for those injured during the demonstrations, will be announced by the Prime Minister.

Sources also revealed that the cabinet would discuss measures to restore peace and security in Islamabad. Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah will provide a detailed briefing to cabinet members on security arrangements in the capital, while the meeting will also review reports on the damages caused by the protests, including destruction and economic losses in Islamabad and other parts of the country.

The cabinet will specifically focus on the consequences of the protests that originated from Peshawar, with reports of violent confrontations and property damage being presented. Economic losses resulting from these events will also be highlighted.

In addition, sensitive agencies will provide detailed reports on the PTI’s protest activities, and the government will evaluate potential steps to deal with the party’s actions going forward.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to announce major decisions regarding PTI’s future actions, signaling possible new measures to address the growing political tensions. The Minister of Information will brief the media after the meeting on the cabinet’s decisions.

Cabinet members have already been notified of the meeting and its agenda, with expectations running high over the critical nature of the upcoming decisions.
