Major bureaucratic reshuffle as hundreds promoted, transferred

131 officers of the Secretariat Group have been promoted to Grade 19

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – In a significant administrative overhaul, the Establishment Division has issued notifications for large-scale promotions and transfers across the federal bureaucracy, elevating hundreds of officers to higher grades.

According to official details, 131 officers of the Secretariat Group have been promoted to Grade 19 following approval by the Departmental Selection Board, with several key postings made in major ministries including interior, finance, commerce, defence, and economic affairs.

The reshuffle also includes multiple transfers and reassignments aimed at strengthening governance and improving administrative performance. Several officers have been retained in their current roles to ensure continuity, while others have been posted to critical divisions such as Power, Water Resources, Climate Change, and National Security.

In the Police Service of Pakistan, 28 officers have been granted regular promotion to Grade 19, while 14 officers have been promoted on acting charge. Most of them have been directed to continue serving in their existing positions.

Meanwhile, 60 officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service have been promoted from Grade 18 to 19 on a permanent basis, with additional officers elevated on acting charge. The Office Management Group also saw 39 officers promoted to Grade 18 after approval by the Departmental Promotion Committee.

Officials stated that the large-scale promotions and transfers are part of efforts to enhance efficiency, maintain continuity, and strengthen institutional capacity across federal department.
