Lucknow Delivery Agent Killed After Smartphone Drop-Off
A 30-year-old delivery agent, Bharat Prajapati, was reportedly strangled after delivering smartphones valued at approximately ₹1 lakh.
The crime took place on September 23 in Lucknow, where Prajapati was attacked by Gajanan and his accomplice, Akash, shortly after completing the delivery.
The duo had lured Prajapati to a house in the Chinhat area after placing an order for Google Pixel and Vivo phones on Flipkart, opting for cash-on-delivery.
Following the delivery, the accused allegedly murdered Prajapati, hid his body in a sack, and disposed of it in the Indira Canal.
Prajapati’s family reported him missing on September 25, sparking a police investigation that uncovered Gajanan’s involvement through phone records.
Akash later admitted to the crime, revealing that the plan was to rob the delivery agent.
While both Akash and Kanaujia have been arrested, Gajanan remains at large, and authorities are actively searching for him.
The State Disaster Response Force is currently combing the canal to locate Prajapati’s body.
This incident underscores increasing concerns about the safety of delivery personnel, who have faced similar violent incidents in recent years.
