London Court Orders Adil Raja to Pay £350,000 for False Allegations Against Brigadier Naseer

The case originated in June 2022 when Adil Raja publicly accused Brigadier Naseer of serious misconduct.

LONDON — The London High Court has ruled that Adil Raja must pay £350,000 (approximately 14 crore Pakistani rupees) in damages for making baseless, malicious, and false allegations against Brigadier (R) Rashid Naseer.

The case originated in June 2022 when Adil Raja publicly accused Brigadier Naseer of serious misconduct. However, the court found no evidence supporting these claims. The judge noted that the £50,000 in damages initially sought by Brigadier Naseer was modest given the severity of the accusations and suggested the compensation should have been significantly higher.

During the proceedings, it was also highlighted that Adil Raja failed to provide any proof for his allegations, including claims related to the assassination of journalist Arshad Sharif and the alleged involvement of Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.

Brigadier Naseer’s legal team welcomed the judgment, stating that it not only cleared their client’s name but also emphasized the legal consequences of making unsubstantiated false accusations.
