In several neighborhoods of Karachi, including Orangi Town, Lyari, Saddar, and Clifton, light morning rain brought a welcome relief from the intense heat on Sunday.
The weather in the city was partly cloudy, which contributed to a slight decrease in temperature after a week of intense heat. The Meteorological Department reported drizzles in several localities, including SITE, Jahangir Road, and Defense, along with intermittent light rain in nearby regions.
However, despite this temporary cooling, the forecast indicates that Karachi will remain hot and dry for the next 24 hours. The expected maximum temperature for the day is between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, with northeast winds blowing at approximately seven kilometers per hour. Currently, the temperature is 28 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a humidity level of 69%.
Karachi has experienced persistent heat even in mid-October, with temperatures recently climbing to a scorching 40 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, the cooler weather brought a slight drop, with the highest temperature recorded at 36.5 degrees Celsius and humidity at 42%.
The Meteorological Office warns that similar weather conditions are likely to persist for the next two to three days, advising residents to take necessary precautions against the ongoing heat.
