LHC Directs PCB to Address Cricket Team Family Travel Issue

The Lahore High Court issued a directive on Friday regarding the ban on national cricket team players taking their families abroad, instructing that the matter be referred to the appropriate authority.

During the hearing, presided over by Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, advocate Faisal Waheed presented a petition arguing against allowing players’ families to accompany them on international tours. He claimed this practice leads to considerable financial losses for the national treasury and suggested that players should concentrate solely on their sport, as involvement in commercial activities could negatively impact their performance.

Waheed pointed to the recent loss of the Pakistani cricket team against the United States as an example of how distractions might hinder their success.

In response to the arguments presented, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan asked if the petitioner had previously discussed this issue with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and noted that winning and losing are inherent aspects of the game. He recommended that Waheed submit a formal application to the PCB to address the matter through the proper channels.
