LHC denies hearing Zartaj Gul without surrender
LHC demands Zartaj Gul’s surrender before hearing her appeals in 9 May cases.
Lahore- (Special Correspondent/We Desk)— The Lahore High Court (LHC) has refused to hear PTI leader Zartaj Gul’s appeals against her convictions in three May 9 cases. The court said she must first surrender to the authorities and appear before it.
During the hearing, Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, leading a two-member bench, agreed with the registrar’s office. She said Zartaj Gul must be present before her appeals can be considered.
The registrar’s office had earlier pointed out that since Gul is a convicted person, she must surrender before her appeals can be accepted.

Zartaj Gul, through her senior lawyers Mian Muhammad Hussain Chotia and Barrister Ali Zafar, has filed three separate appeals. These challenge the Anti-Terrorism Court Faisalabad’s verdicts, which gave her 10 years’ prison in each of the three cases related to the May 9 events.
Earlier, the Peshawar High Court granted protective bail to Zartaj Gul until August 11. This gives her time to appeal her convictions in the Lahore High Court.
