LHC Demands Clarity in Azma Bokhari Fake Video Case

The Lahore High Court, led by Chief Justice Alia Neelum, addressed the case involving a fake video of Punjab spokesperson Azma Bokhari. During the proceedings, she directed the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (DG FIA) to provide comprehensive records related to the case, including his travel history.

Chief Justice Neelum expressed concern over the absence of the FIA DG, with the federal government’s advocate explaining that he was attending an official meeting in China. The Chief Justice pressed for clarity on the DG’s return, highlighting the necessity of following proper protocols. She stated, “When an authority leaves the country, there should be an NOC and permission. You don’t seem to know anything.”

Emphasizing the seriousness of the matter, the Chief Justice cautioned the FIA against any attempts to mislead the court. The court then mandated that the DG FIA must appear at the next hearing on September 30, bringing all pertinent documents, including boarding passes and his travel history, to ensure full transparency in the investigation.
