Lahore Tops Global Air Pollution Rankings Again
Other cities facing severe air pollution include Kolkata in India and Hanoi in Vietnam.
Lahore has once again become the most polluted city in the world, according to new data released by IQAir. The city’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 312, placing it above India’s capital New Delhi, which ranked second, and Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka, which ranked third on the global pollution chart.
Other cities facing severe air pollution include Kolkata in India and Hanoi in Vietnam.
Within Lahore, the Kahna Nau area has been declared the most polluted, with its AQI soaring to an alarming 651. Gujranwala ranked as the second most polluted location with an AQI of 437. Faisalabad and Kharianwala have also entered the hazardous pollution zone.

The dangerously high AQI levels highlight the worsening air quality crisis across multiple urban centers in Pakistan.
