Lahore Qalandars have to overcome lapses for first victory in PSL 9
Defending champions Lahore Qalandars will look forward to have their first victory in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 when they face tournament’s topper Multan Sultans here on Wednesday evening.
Lahore: The match will start at 7pm.
Qalandars will have to improve their fielding if they want to win the match tonight. Moreover, the bowling attack, led by skipper Shaheen Afridi, is under-performing. Their batting line up performed superbly as they posted 195 against Islamabad in the opening match of the season. But their bowling let them down as Shadab Khan and Agha Salman stole initiative with an unbeaten 138-run partnership after claiming two early wickets.
In their second match against Quetta Gladiators, the Lahorites have to blame their bowling again as they let the opponents off the hook. Lahore’s batting put up a healthy total of 187 runs but Quetta achieved the target with five balls to spare.
Apart from batting, fielding lapses cost Lahore their second match. They dropped Jason Roy twice and Sarfraz Ahmed which helped Quetta win by five wickets.
Multan Sultans, on the other hand, have won both their matches and are at the top of the points table with four points.
