Lahore Lawyers Launch Judicial Boycott, Lock Down Session Court

Legal Community Protests for Eight Key Demands, Halting Judicial Proceedings

The legal community in Lahore began a judicial boycott today, effectively sealing off all entrances and exits to the city’s session court in a show of protest.

Led by prominent members of the Lahore Bar, the lawyers are advocating for eight key demands, which include the dismissal of cases against their fellow lawyers and the protection of fundamental rights.

During the demonstration, the lawyers prevented police officers and court staff from accessing the court premises. Munir Hussain Bhatti, a prominent leader among the protesters, issued a firm ultimatum to the administration, insisting that their demands be met by 5 PM today.

“If our demands are not addressed, we will escalate our protest to the Punjab Assembly and the High Court, and we will involve the President in the matter,” Bhatti stated.

As a result of the protest, judicial proceedings have come to a complete halt, with no resolution anticipated unless the administration responds to the lawyers’ calls for action.
