Lahore Gets Smart Safety Upgrade as Free Emergency Charging Stations Go Live
The initiative ensures that safety zones remain functional even during emergencies, allowing residents to stay connected without the fear of mobile phones running out of battery at critical moments.
LAHORE: In another landmark initiative under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority has rolled out a free emergency mobile phone charging service across Lahore, further strengthening public safety infrastructure in the provincial capital.
The service has been launched at selected locations where citizens can now access four essential facilities at a single point, including a panic button, CM Free Wi-Fi, and free emergency mobile phone charging, aimed at enhancing public security and convenience.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority said the government plans to install these emergency charging stations at 100 locations across Lahore. So far, 30 locations are fully operational, and citizens have already begun benefiting from the facility.
