Lahore DSP arrested for killing wife, daughter

Investigators later uncovered the truth, leading to Haider’s confession and the recovery of the bodies.

LAHORE: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Usman Haider has confessed to murdering his wife and daughter months after falsely reporting them as missing, according to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Zeeshan Raza Shah.

The DIG stated that DSP Haider shot and killed his wife and daughter and later disposed of their bodies separately in Kahna and Sheikhupura. Both bodies have since been recovered and sent for post-mortem examinations, while further investigation into the case is ongoing.

Police officials revealed that the couple had been experiencing marital problems for a prolonged period, which reportedly escalated after DSP Haider entered into a second marriage. The woman killed was his first wife, with whom he had a love marriage. Authorities said domestic disputes intensified following the second marriage, eventually leading to the killings.

Investigators later uncovered the truth, leading to Haider’s confession and the recovery of the bodies.
