Lahore Court Extends Rajab Butt Interim Bail
Sessions Court Extends Rajab Butt and Nadeem Bail March 6
LAHORE: (Web Desk) – A sessions court in Lahore has extended the interim bail of Rajab Butt and Nadeem Nani Wala until March 6 in the gambling app promotion case. The accused appeared before Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi, who requested the investigation record from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for review.
The court was informed that the investigation is still ongoing and directed the FIA to present the required record at the next hearing. Meanwhile, last week, a Karachi court had extended Rajab Butt’s interim bail in a separate blasphemy case until March 30.
During proceedings, the complainant’s counsel raised objections to the accused’s delayed arrival, noting that the scheduled hearing time was 8:30 am, but they appeared an hour late. He urged the court to cancel the interim bail, stating that the prosecution was ready to present evidence while the defence failed to appear. Rajab Butt’s legal team explained that their counsel, Mian Ali Ashfaq, was on official leave.

The court expressed displeasure over repeated absences of the defence counsel and directed a formal application to explain the matter. An adjournment request by the defence was subsequently approved.
Rajab Butt has remained in the spotlight due to multiple legal controversies. Recently, he was reportedly attacked by a group of lawyers at the Karachi City Courts following allegations of making derogatory remarks against the legal fraternity. An FIR was later filed by Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq, describing the incident as a “brutal, unlawful, and premeditated physical assault.”
