Pakistani Athlete Expresses Heartfelt Thanks for Nationwide Honor and Respect
Arshad Nadeem, the national hero who clinched a gold medal at the Paris Olympics, received a warm and enthusiastic welcome upon his arrival in Lahore. Invited by the Punjab Governor, Nadeem, along with his family and coach Salman Iqbal Butt, was met with heartfelt enthusiasm.
During his stay, Nadeem will reside at the Governor House. Speaking at a special event held in his honor on Saturday morning, he expressed heartfelt gratitude for the widespread respect and admiration he has received from all over Pakistan.
“I am deeply grateful to the Governor of Punjab for inviting me to the Governor House today. Despite facing surgery and an injury, the unwavering support from my mentor and the nation played a pivotal role in my triumph,” Nadeem remarked, emphasizing the hard work and dedication of his coach.
Reflecting on his achievement, he noted, “This was a historic moment for Pakistan. Allah blessed me with success on my second throw, and I am proud to bring honor to the nation. It’s the first time in Pakistan’s history that we’ve set a record. I will continue striving to reach even greater heights.”
Historic Olympic Gold Medalist Arshad Nadeem Honored by Army Chief
Governor Sardar Salim Haider warmly welcomed Nadeem, underscoring the significance of his victory.
“Arshad Nadeem’s win has filled the entire Pakistani nation with immense pride. His achievement at the Paris Olympics has raised our country’s flag to unprecedented heights. We celebrate his success and the joy it has spread across Pakistan,” Governor Haider stated.
He mentioned offering special prayers for Arshad’s success and praised his exceptional performance. “It is extraordinary that we are the ones who have claimed this victory after 118 years. I was confident that Arshad Nadeem would exceed 95 meters in his throws. His throws, surpassing 90 meters, showcase his commitment and talent. I am optimistic that he will break the world record in the future. My prayers are with him for continued success and the prosperity of our nation.”
In recognition of Nadeem’s historic accomplishment, Governor Haider presented him with a cheque for Rs2 million. The entire nation is celebrating this remarkable victory, which has brought a deep sense of pride and happiness to Pakistan.
