KWSC Water Suspension 27 April — What Karachi Residents Must Know

KWSC Water Suspension 27 April: Areas Affected, Timeline & What Comes Next

KWSC water – (Special CorrespondentKarachi is facing a major water crisis. The KWSC water suspension 27 April has left millions of residents without a drop from their taps. Here is everything you need to know — simply explained.

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) started maintenance work on Saturday, April 25, at 12 noon. The work is happening at the Dhabeji Pumping Station. A new water line is being connected to the old network there.

Nine pumps at the station were shut down for 48 hours. Seven of those pumps are expected to restart on April 27. The remaining two will stay off for five more days.

Water supply has been stopped in many areas. These include North Karachi, Surjani Town, Scheme 33, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Saddar, Landhi, Korangi, and Chanesar Town. Water tanker points at Nipa, Safoora, and Sakhi Hassan are also closed during this time.

Karachi normally gets around 650 million gallons of water every day. During this shutdown, the shortfall is about 250 million gallons per day. That is a huge gap for a city of this size.

KWSC has urged all residents to use water wisely. If you have stored water, avoid wasting it. The work is being done to improve the city’s water system in the long run.

Stay updated through official KWSC channels for the latest news on restoration.
