KPK and Punjab Set to Clash in the Final of Quadrangular PDT-20 Cricket Tournament

ISLAMABAD: The highly anticipated final of the Quadrangular PDT-20 Cricket Tournament is set to take place today (Friday, December 6) at the Rashid Latif Academy in Gulberg, Lahore, between KPK PD and Punjab PD. The match will start at 9 am.
Both teams secured their spots in the final after winning two matches each in the league stage, with better net run rates. Punjab and KPK will now battle for the championship in what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the tournament.
Amiruddin Ansari, General Secretary of the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association (PPDCA) and Tournament Director, confirmed that all arrangements for the final have been completed to ensure a spectacular and memorable event. The prize distribution ceremony will be held at the ground following the match, with former Test cricketer Tauseef Ahmed and Senior General Manager of National Stadium, Arshad Khan, attending as special guests. They will distribute the prizes among the players.
The tournament, approved by the Pakistan Cricket Board, has showcased impressive performances, with Punjab and KPK emerging as the strongest teams. In the tournament’s earlier matches, Punjab PD defeated Balochistan PD by 8 wickets. Balochistan batted first and scored 102 runs in 20 overs, with Adil Mahmood contributing 30 runs and Ahmed Qureshi adding 28 runs. However, Punjab PD chased down the target comfortably in just 12 overs, with Jahanzeb Dawana smashing 49 runs off 28 balls, including 3 fours and 4 sixes. Muhammad Noman supported with 32 runs. Abdul Basit’s excellent bowling earned him the Man of the Match award for his 4-wicket haul.

In the second match, Sindh PD managed only 105 runs before being bowled out. Yasir Ajmal top-scored with 18 runs, while Asif Khachi was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for 19 runs. KPK PD chased down the target in 17 overs, with Shahid Wattoo remaining unbeaten on 41, supported by Matlab Qureshi, who scored 39 not out. Shahid Wattoo was named Man of the Match for his match-winning performance.
