KP Shifting Local Councils’ Accounts to Online System

All Financial Deals Now Exclusively via E-Challan

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- (Special Correspondent/Web desk) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is moving the Local Government Department’s finances to a fully digital system. Directives have been sent to all Tehsil Municipal Officers (TMOs) to begin the transition. A circular from the Local Council Board states that revenue collection in the Metropolitan Corporation, tehsils, and TMAs — including Peshawar — will now be done exclusively through an e-challan and cashless process.

All Payments to Go Through E-Challan
Under the new decision, every financial transaction will now be processed only through the e-challan platform.
No More Cash Collections
Local bodies will stop collecting fees, market rents, penalties, and other dues in cash. All such payments will move to the digital system.
Public Awareness Drive Planned
TMAs have been directed to start an awareness campaign to guide citizens on how to use the e-challan and cashless payment system.
