KP Senate Election: PTI Wins Six Seats, Opposition Secures Five
On the technocrat seats, PTI’s senior leader Azam Swati won one, while the other went to JUI-F’s Dilawar Khan.
PESHAWAR: Unofficial and unconfirmed results have emerged following the Senate elections held in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) securing a slight edge over opposition parties by winning six of the eleven contested seats.
All 145 members of the KP Assembly cast their votes to elect senators for seven general seats, two women’s seats, and two technocrat seats.
According to preliminary results, PTI won four out of the seven general seats. PTI candidates Murad Saeed, Faisal Javed, Mirza Afridi, and Noor-ul-Haq Qadri emerged victorious.
From the opposition, three general seats were secured by PML-N’s Niaz Ahmed, PPP’s Talha Mahmood, and JUI-F’s Atta-ul-Haq.
In terms of vote count, Murad Saeed led the PTI winners with 26 votes, followed by Faisal Javed with 22, while Noor-ul-Haq Qadri and Mirza Afridi both secured 21 votes each.
Among the two women’s seats, PTI’s Rubina Naz and PPP’s Rubina Khalid were declared winners. Rubina Naz garnered 89 votes according to the provisional tally.

While these results remain unofficial, they reflect a closely contested Senate election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with both PTI and the opposition showing significant presence in the province.
