ISLAMABAD: Kot Momin resident and well-known cleric Pir Al-Sheikh Ala Syed Saifuddin, also known as Usmani Gilani, has been identified as the central suspect in a visa fraud case involving the US Embassy. According to reports, he allegedly charged 30,000 dollars to prepare fake documents for 12 people applying for US visas. The forged documents included letters appearing to be from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Another accused, Rub Nawaz, was reportedly working with the cleric in the visa business. The suspects also provided fake documents to secure a US visa for a senior civil judge. A fraudulent letter was even prepared claiming participation in a Sufism conference in the United States.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted a raid in Kot Momin to arrest the cleric; however, he managed to flee before the operation.
