Kohli Breaks Tendulkar’s Record for Most Runs in White-Ball Cricket

With this feat, the Indian captain has now amassed 18,443 runs across ODIs and T20 Internationals

MUMBAI — India’s star batter Virat Kohli has surpassed cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar to become the highest run-scorer in international white-ball cricket.

Kohli achieved the milestone after a match-winning innings of 74 runs against Australia in the third and final ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday.

With this feat, the Indian captain has now amassed 18,443 runs across ODIs and T20 Internationals — 14,255 in 305 ODIs and 4,188 in 125 T20Is — overtaking Tendulkar’s long-standing tally of 18,436 runs.

Tendulkar had scored 18,426 runs in ODIs and 10 runs in his only T20 International, a record that stood for over a decade.
