Kohatians Association Successfully Conducts First Democratic Election Through E-Voting

KOHAT: (Web Desk) – The Kohatians Association has successfully concluded its first-ever democratic election, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s history.

The election was conducted through an electronic voting system from June 6 to June 8, 2026, enabling members from Pakistan and around the world to participate regardless of their location. Out of 2,067 registered members eligible to vote, 1,417 cast their ballots, resulting in a voter turnout of 68.6 percent.

According to the Association, the election results were independently verified and certified by the Election Commission, ensuring transparency and credibility throughout the process.

Following the completion of voting, members elected the following office-bearers to lead the Association for the next term:

  • President: Dr Viqar Ahmed Khan
  • Vice President: Maqbool Mohammad
  • General Secretary: Muhammad Humayun
  • Finance Secretary: Fiaz Akbar Jafri

A transition meeting between the outgoing cabinet and the newly elected leadership was held on June 14, 2026, to discuss the transfer of responsibilities and ensure a smooth handover process.

A spokesperson for the Association described the election as an important step toward strengthening member participation and giving the community a direct role in selecting its leadership. The spokesperson noted that the strong turnout reflected the enthusiasm and engagement of Kohatians across different regions.

The Association also expressed gratitude to the Election Commission, candidates, chapter representatives, volunteers, and members whose efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the election.

Established to connect graduates of Cadet College Kohat, the Kohatians Association aims to foster alumni engagement, strengthen professional and social networks, and support initiatives that benefit both the alumni community and the institution.
