Kim Jong Un Pledges Strong Support for China’s Sovereignty and Shared Goals

China – North Korea – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un assured Chinese President Xi Jinping that North Korea will continue to support China in safeguarding its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and development goals, according to North Korean state media KCNA on Friday.

Kim emphasized, “No matter how the global situation changes, the friendship between North Korea and China will remain unchanged,” during their bilateral meeting in Beijing on Thursday, KCNA reported.

Xi Jinping responded by saying that China and North Korea are ‘good neighbors, trusted friends, and close partners’ who share a common destiny, highlighting the strong bond between the two nations.

Both leaders discussed ways to boost strategic cooperation, protect shared interests in global and regional matters, and enhance high-level visits and communication between their countries, KCNA added.

KCNA confirmed that Kim returned to North Korea on Thursday after his visit to Beijing, where senior Chinese officials, including top Communist Party member Cai Qi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, bid him farewell.

Kim’s visit was described as a “historic occasion that strengthened political trust and strategic partnership between North Korea and China,” KCNA said. It further noted that this meeting showcased the “unbreakable friendship and strong alliance that has endured challenges and hardships.”
