Prominent Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khurram Dastgir Khan expressed his pride in the government’s role in hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, noting its potential to enhance bilateral relations and create economic prospects.
In a recent interview with a private news channel, he stated, “This landmark event represents a crucial step in strengthening Pakistan’s ties with neighboring countries, especially China, with which we have long enjoyed warm and friendly relations.”
Dastgir highlighted that the SCO summit provides a platform for deepening connections in various sectors, including trade, economy, investment, industry, education, defense, agriculture, and culture.
He remarked, “This is a proud moment for our country, showcasing the increasing confidence that other nations have in Pakistan.”
The summit, he noted, convenes prominent leaders from member states such as China, Russia, India, and Belarus to promote cooperation in critical areas like security, economy, and culture.
He also pointed out that the vibrant atmosphere in the capital during the summit reflects Pakistan’s hospitality and its commitment to strengthening bonds with fellow member states.
In response to a question, he stressed the importance of national unity and maturity during the SCO summit, acknowledging the significance of hosting such an international event that highlights Pakistan’s growing influence and the trust it has garnered from participating nations.
