Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal)- Defence Minister Khawaja Asif expressed optimism on Sunday that the judiciary would shift its attention away from political matters to focus on delivering swift justice to citizens, following the Senate’s approval of the constitutional amendment.
In his remarks, Asif said: “The Senate has passed a key amendment, and the National Assembly will soon follow.”
He emphasized that the parliamentary democratic system would be freed from the influence of the judiciary, stating: “The authority that rightfully belongs to the people, after the will of the Almighty, will no longer be under judicial control.”
He also commented on the stance of PTI leaders, noting: “They will support the package for various reasons.”
