Khan may be out of jail on June 27, predicts,Rana
Govt will certainly try to keep Imran behind bars ‘as long as possible,
Islamabad(Webdesk);Rana Sanaullah predicted on Tuesday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder mran Khan may be released from jail on June 27. Sanaullah speaking to a private TV channel emphasised that the government will make every effort to keep Khan detained, citing concerns over his agenda to spread chaos.
Sanaullah has given credence to the reports that the federal government is planning to lodge new cases against jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in a bid to delay his release from prison.
Khan, the deposed prime minister who was ousted from power via the opposition’s no-confidence motion in April 2022, has been facing a slew of charges ranging from corruption to terrorism since his removal as the premier.
After securing relief in other cases including £190 million reference and Toshakhana, the former premier was acquitted in the cipher case earlier this month but he remains behind bars due to his conviction in the iddat case.
The PTI founder has been behind bars since August last year after he was sentenced in the Toshakhana case and subsequently sentenced in other cases ahead of the February 8 elections.
“Imran Khan’s main agenda is to destabilise the country and spread chaos and anarchy in the country that’s why the government will certainly try to keep him behind bars as long as possible,”
The advisor further criticised Khan for not believing in democratic principles, stating that no one has the mandate to harm the country. “We will ensure that Imran Khan remains detained within the bounds of the law,” he said.
He also mentioned the possibility of opening cases and conducting searches as part of lawful proceedings.

When questioned about parliamentary seats, Sanaullah affirmed that parties with specific seat entitlements are legally entitled to them. He suggested that amendments to the Election Act could be considered if necessary.
Discussing internal party matters, Sanaullah shared that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif consults with Nawaz Sharif on every decision. He refuted claims of any meeting between Nawaz Sharif and former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa during the no-confidence motion.
“Muhammad Zubair’s statements were speculative and incorrect,” he asserted.
He acknowledged that Shehbaz Sharif met General Bajwa during the latter’s tenure as the head of an institution, stating that such meetings are routine as members of the establishment are integral to the country.
