NEW YORK: (Web Desk) – Kate Winslet has spoken openly about the emotional toll of deeply immersive acting roles admitting that one performance pushed her to a breaking point and forced her to seek professional help.

Winslet said her portrayal of a grief-stricken detective in the HBO series Mare of Easttown proved especially overwhelming due to the prolonged filming schedule caused by the pandemic. By the end of the project she had spent over a year in character and said the experience left her feeling detached from herself. Reflecting on the ordeal she acknowledged it was the only time she needed proper psychological support to regain balance. Now as her son Joe begins his own acting career Winslet says she is able to offer the emotional understanding and care she once lacked.
