Muzaffarabad/Islamabad(Mudassar Iqbal)-Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, has reaffirmed that the Accession to Pakistan Resolution—adopted by Kashmiri leadership during a historic summit in Srinagar on July 19, 1947—remains a defining milestone in the ongoing freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people.
In a special message issued on the occasion of Accession to Pakistan Day, the Prime Minister recalled that the pivotal meeting, held at the residence of Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan—the founding President of Azad Kashmir—unanimously resolved to align Kashmir’s future with Pakistan.
The resolution, he said, demanded the Maharaja of Kashmir to accede to Pakistan, citing the Muslim majority of the state and its geographical proximity to Pakistan. The Prime Minister, while emphasizing the importance of the resolution, clarified that it was a powerful expression of the unbreakable ideological and emotional bond between the Kashmiri people with Pakistan.” Kashmiris’ love for the state of Pakistan runs like blood in their veins”, he said, adding that this affection for the state of Pakistan is deeply rooted in their faith.
