NEPRA Approves Electricity Rate Hike for K-Electric Consumers
Islamabad-Karachiites Face Power Tariff Hike of Rs5.75, The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a significant increase in electricity rates for K-Electric consumers, effective from the next billing cycle ¹. The rate hike of Rs5.75 per unit is a result of the monthly fuel price adjustment (FPA) for May, which includes:
– Rs2.59 per unit increase for May
– Rs3.16 per unit increase for June
These changes will be reflected in the electricity bills issued for the months of October and November. All consumers, including lifeline customers and electric vehicle users, will be affected by this price hike. NEPRA stated that this adjustment is necessary to align with the fluctuating fuel costs used in power generation.
