Karachi Residents Face Higher Water Costs Following Recent Utility Price Hikes

Karachi-After recent increases in electricity and gas prices, Karachi residents are now facing higher water costs as well.

In the fifth meeting of the Water and Sewerage Board, chaired by Mayor Murtaza Wahab, a 23% increase in water bills was approved.

According to sources, sewerage bills have also seen a 14% rise, while water rates specifically have gone up by 9%.

These increases further strain the finances of citizens already dealing with escalating utility expenses.

It has also been confirmed that a municipal tax is now being levied through electricity bills, adding another layer to the cost of living in Karachi.

The decision reflects the city administration’s efforts to meet the growing financial demands of municipal services.
