Police in Karachi have arrested a man on suspicion of murdering his pregnant wife in Shah Faisal Colony.
The victim, Laila, was reportedly three months pregnant at the time of her death.
Family members revealed that Laila was fatally stabbed in the neck. Her father mentioned that Laila and the accused, Abdullah, were married in a love marriage in June 2024, and both were employed at a call center.
He further stated that Abdullah initially informed him that Laila had injured her hand, but upon reaching the hospital, he discovered that she had died from a throat injury.
Laila’s sister has accused Abdullah of subjecting Laila to domestic abuse.
A case has been registered, and the police have launched an investigation. The cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report. The inquiry is ongoing.
