Khushdil Shah powers Karachi Kings past Lahore Qalandars PSL

LAHORE: (Web Desk) – In the 35th match of the Pakistan Super League Season 11, Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, powered by a blistering finish from Khushdil Shah.

Lahore Qalandars, after winning the toss, posted a strong total of 199/6 in 20 overs. Abdullah Shafique and Fakhar Zaman led the charge with impressive knocks of 62 and 61 runs respectively.

For Karachi Kings, Moeen Ali picked up 2 wickets, while Hasan Ali and Rizwanullah claimed one wicket each.

Chasing 200, Karachi Kings reached the target in 18.4 overs, losing 5 wickets along the way. Early contributions came from Jason Roy (9), Reeza Hendricks (10), and Salman Agha (14), while Moeen Ali added a quick 39 off 17 balls.

The game turned in the final overs when Khushdil Shah unleashed a powerful finish, scoring 23 runs off Shaheen Afridi’s 18th over and 14 runs off just 4 deliveries from Haris Rauf. He remained unbeaten on 44 off 14 balls, smashing 5 sixes and 2 fours, while captain David Warner anchored the innings with an unbeaten 63.

With this victory, Karachi Kings have strengthened their position in the playoff race alongside Lahore Qalandars and other contenders.

In the points table, Peshawar Zalmi have already qualified with 17 points, followed by Multan Sultans with 12 points. Islamabad United sit third with 9 points, while Hyderabad, Lahore Qalandars, and Karachi Kings are closely placed in the mid-table battle.
