Karachi Faces Ongoing Rainfall with Fifth Monsoon Spell in Effect
Karachi is currently experiencing its fifth spell of monsoon, with intermittent rain disrupting the city.
Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz reports that the weather system responsible for the rainfall is about 320 kilometers from Karachi. He forecasts more rain and strong winds for today, which could lead to urban flooding. Sarfraz advises residents to remain cautious as the rain spell is expected to continue until August 31.
The weather system, originating from a deep depression, first affected the Sindh borders before reaching Karachi. Light rain throughout the night has led to water pooling on various roads.
Punjab Prepares for Heavy Monsoon Rains
Despite the inconveniences, the heavy rainfall has provided some relief from the usual heat, lowering temperatures to a comfortable 27 degrees Celsius, with winds blowing at six kilometers per hour.
As the city prepares for potentially heavy rain this evening and overnight, residents are advised to stay updated and take necessary precautions to mitigate any adverse effects.
The Met Department has released a detailed weather forecast, indicating widespread rainfall and potential flooding across various regions of Pakistan.
