Karachi Airport Bust: Afghan Woman Held for Fake Documents
Three Afghan women, Aziza Mohammadi, Mehria Rehmani, and Zahra Sultani, were caught at Karachi airport trying to fly to Germany using fake documents. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) discovered they had counterfeit medical and business papers. Aziza, who came to Pakistan on a medical visa, claimed to have received treatment in Islamabad from April 27 to May 20, 2024, but investigators found she never actually visited Pakistan after getting her passport.
The women are now facing legal action, and the FIA’s anti-human trafficking unit is handling the case. This isn’t the first incident of its kind; earlier, the FIA caught a passenger with a fake Afghan passport at Karachi airport ¹. The agency is taking these cases seriously to prevent human trafficking and ensure national security.

Similarly, Mehria, who arrived on a business visa, presented documents indicating she was on a business trip with her husband, Iqbal Hakimi. Upon questioning, she denied being married and having any knowledge of a man named Iqbal Hakimi.
Zahra, an Afghan national, was caught at Karachi airport on September 2 for attempting to travel to Germany using forged documents. She had claimed to be accompanying a patient, Marman Parveen, as an attendant, but investigations revealed that she had obtained a Pakistani visa under false pretenses [no source]. This incident is part of a larger trend of illegal immigration attempts through Pakistan.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been actively working to combat this issue, and Zahra’s arrest follows the recent detention of nine other foreigners at Karachi airport for similar offenses [no source]. The FIA’s efforts aim to prevent human trafficking and ensure national security.
