Karachi administration cancels school closure after updated weather forecast

ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the Deputy Commissioner of Central District of Karachi has withdrawn the decision to close educational institutions for tomorrow.
As per the details, the decision comes after a fresh advisory issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and the Meteorological Department.
Initially, the Deputy Commissioner had announced to keep all the educational institutions of the district closed in view of the expected bad weather conditions. However, this advisory has now been withdrawn based on an updated advisory that indicates a change in expected weather patterns.
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in Karachi during the next 2 to 3 days with a possibility of up to 200 mm of rain. The department has warned that several other areas of Sindh, including Karachi, may experience intermittent rains till August 31, with possible thunderstorms and heavy rains.
According to the latest statistics of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Karachi tomorrow morning or afternoon.

Earlier, in response to similar weather conditions, Hyderabad district announced closure of both private and public educational institutions for the day, while Mirpurkhas district closed schools for two days due to heavy rains. was announced.
