Kamala Harris Warns of Trump’s “Unchecked Power” Bid

US-(Special Correspondent): At a large rally in Washington, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris cautioned the crowd of over 75,000 people about the risks of electing Republican Donald Trump, who she claims is seeking unrestrained power. Harris, who spoke near the White House on Tuesday evening, referenced the January 6 Capitol attack, suggesting Trump incited the violent incident to overturn the 2020 election results.

In her remarks, Harris portrayed Trump as “unstable” and driven by revenge, grievances, and unchecked ambition, calling this rally her “closing argument” ahead of the November 5 election. Over 53 million Americans have already voted, marking this election as pivotal for the future leadership of the U.S.

Surrounded by American flags and “FREEDOM” banners, Harris addressed a diverse crowd of older attendees, students, and visitors from New York and Virginia. “We cannot return to the destructive policies of the Trump era,” said Saul Schwartz from Virginia, while Danielle Hoffmann from New York described Harris as “joyous, real, and powerful.”

Polls show Harris’s lead shrinking to a narrow 44% over Trump’s 43%. Although she has consistently led since joining the race in July, her margin has diminished in recent weeks. Trump, meanwhile, continues to downplay the Capitol riot, asserting that he would pardon the more than 1,500 individuals charged if re-elected.

In Florida on Tuesday, Trump defended a controversial New York rally as a “lovefest,” despite offensive remarks made by speakers there. President Biden responded sharply, condemning the rally’s rhetoric as “garbage” and “un-American” for demonizing Latinos.

As Harris rallied in Washington, Trump courted Hispanic voters in Pennsylvania, home to the largest Puerto Rican population in the state. Trump questioned voters on their satisfaction since his term ended and criticized the European Union, suggesting that it would soon face tariffs on car exports to the U.S.
