Justice Amin-ud-din Khan Appointed Head of SC Constitutional Bench

Islamabad-(Mudassar Iqbal): The Judicial Commission of Pakistan has decided to appoint Justice Amin-ud-din Khan as the head of the Supreme Court’s constitutional bench.

Justice Amin-ud-din Khan is the fourth most senior judge in the Supreme Court.

Representing Punjab on the bench will be Justice Khan alongside Justice Ayesha Malik. Justices Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Jamal Khan Mandokhail will represent Balochistan, while Justices Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Hassan Azhar Rizvi will also represent Balochistan. Justice Musarrat Hilali will represent Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

This decision was made in a Judicial Commission meeting, with a narrow majority vote of 7-5.

Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar, and Pakistan Bar Council Representative Akhtar Hussain attended the meeting.

Additionally, Senator Farooq H. Naik from the People’s Party, Sheikh Aftab Ahmed from the Muslim League (N), and PTI’s Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz also participated in the discussions.
